Black Black & Decker 9072CTN Cordless Screwdriver (Kitchen) Please take note that I wrote a positive review about this item in the past, but no longer wish to give the product a positive review! It work. quite fine in the beginning, does not have much of torq, but well enough to get a screw in a wooden plate, or so I tought. Now, nearly a month away, and after using it no more than 2 hours on 2 projects this screwdriver started skipping, as if the internals no longer provided the torq it once had!Seemingly inside the driver, there’s something like a plastic wheel on a hexagon rod. That plastic wheel started skidding when you tighten or loose screws at the maximum torq of the driver! After a while the plastic part (which is non-replaceable) will wear out, and your driver will lose it’s strength!I never thought that black and decker, which is a reputable company in European supermarkets, would sell such CRAP online!!!If I can advise anyone, return your item before it’s too late!!!This driver is only for replacing computer parts (and even then it might be too bulky in some cases); this is NOT to drive screws in a wooden plate).I have both battery powered electrical black and decker screwdriver s, this one, and the one which uses 4xAA batteries, and both respond about the same!Other thoughts:- The driver lasts pretty long on battery (I’ve been using it for more than 8 hours in light duty, like computers) and the batteries still look like they’re more than half full.- makes about 1 rotation per second- Can not compete to a teenager with a screwdriver ‘s strength- Good for mechanical screws with lots of thread (long screws), but no torq- Weighs less than 250 grams batteries included (~100 grams with out batteries)- Don’t put too much force on the driver, not even in locked/manual mode! Use a regular screwdriver for that !- Noise level is ~45dB (louder than whisper, softer than talking) @ ~600Hz |
